Communication with Society

In the dialogue with society section of Responsible Care (RC) policy, we pay attention to the interests of government authorities, local residents, and others, and strive to communicate with them by disclosing the results of our activities to society. In addition, we are continuing to engage in dialogue and exchange with local communities and social contribution activities.
Based on this policy, we participate in regional dialogue initiatives organized by the Responsible Care Committee of the Japan Chemical Industry Association, and widely disclose the results and progress of our RC activities through the Integrated Report and this website. We also engage in activities to contribute to local communities, such as donations to local governments and community cleanups.
In addition, as part of our efforts to support the development of the next generation, we are deepening communication with local communities through plant tours, internships, and other activities.

In response to the growing demand for silica gel used in pharmaceutical purification, Osaka Soda has decided to invest more than ¥10 billion to expand manufacturing facilities at the Amagasaki Plant and the Matsuyama Plant. In connection with the expansion of the Matsuyama Plant, we concluded a location agreement with Ehime Prefecture and Matsuyama City.
Demand for our pharmaceutical-grade silica gel is increasing rapidly due to large-scale capital investments by Western pharmaceutical companies in the obesity treatment drug market, as well as the accelerated development of biosimilars in emerging countries. As a result, demand is expected to exceed current production capacity around 2028.
Through the conclusion of this agreement, Osaka Soda aims to strengthen collaboration with Ehime Prefecture and Matsuyama City and to contribute to society through business growth by promoting regional economic revitalization and job creation.

As part of our contribution to regional revitalization, Osaka Soda collaborated with the Ehime Prefecture Osaka Office to hold an in-house sales event featuring products from Ehime Prefecture at one of our facilities.

Through promotional activities highlighting local products and tourist attractions, the event provided employees with opportunities to experience the appeal of Ehime Prefecture, where our Matsuyama Plant is located. In addition to contributing to a prosperous society through our business activities, we also strive to support regional revitalization as a responsible member of society.
